Sanibel Fly Fishers first meeting of the season
The first meeting of the year will be on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, from 5:30-8 p.m., at the Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel for the Sanibel Fly Fishers.
Joe Mahler will start off the evening with tips on “How to Read a Fly Box” – become to be an informed consumer and know what you are buying when you face that wall of myriad choices.
Melanie Gannon is an experienced SW Florida guide with a passion for teaching the basics and nuances of salt water fly fishing. She’ll talk about fishing the home waters, with and emphasis on snook.
As always, there will be pizza and soft drinks available. Sanibel Fly Fishers asks for donations to cover the cost of food and beverage.
