A mid-term rally featuring President Donald Trump is set for Fort Myers next Friday at Florida Gulf Coast University’s Alico Arena.

The rally in Fort Myers is being viewed as an intended campaign boost for Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Naples), who is running to be the next governor of Florida. Donalds, whose congressional district covers Collier County and Lee County, is in a tight race with Democrat David Jolly for the governorship.

Donalds has been a staunch supporter of Trump, going back to Trump’s attempt to decertify the votes in Arizona and Pennsylvania in 2021, after the 2020 election in the wake of the Jan. 6 riots in the Capitol. Donalds backed Trump through his civil trials and voted against Trump’s second impeachment.

Doors are set to open art the arena on Friday at 10:30 a.m. and remarks will begin at 2 p.m.

Tickets are available online through the Republican National Committee with a maximum of four tickets per signup.

Alico Arena is located at 2181 FGCU Lake Pkwy East in Fort Myers.

Travelers in the area should expect traffic delays.
