School sales tax holiday continues

Consumers in Florida can still purchase qualifying back-to-school supplies exempt from tax during the 2026 Back to School Sales Tax Holiday, which will run from now through Aug. 20.

Items exempt from sales tax include:

– Clothing, footwear and accessories having a sales price of $100 or less per item

– Wallets and bags having a sales price of $100 or less per item

– School supplies having a sales price of $50 or less per item

– Learning aids and jigsaw puzzles having a sales price of $30 or less

– Personal computers or personal computer-related accessories purchased for noncommercial home or personal use having a sales price of $1,500 or less

The holiday does not apply to the rental or repair of any of the qualifying items. Additionally, it does not apply to sales in a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishment or airport.
