Captiva library, county system offer programs
The Captiva Memorial Library, which is part of the Lee County Library System, is offering the following free programming:
CHILDREN PROGRAMS
– Sept. 2: Make A Banana Split
(during operating hours)
Children can make their own banana split craft.
– Sept. 4: Make A Banana Split
(during operating hours)
Children can make their own banana split craft.
– Sept. 9: Make an Apple Craft to Welcome Fall
(during operating hours)
Make your own apple to welcome fall, with a with a fun little surprise inside.
The library is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. It will be closed on Sept. 7 in observance of Labor Day.

ADULT PROGRAMS
– Sept. 8: Online Author Event with Daniel Kraus from 7 to 8 p.m.
Step into the world of visionary science fiction with Pulitzer Prize-winning and New York Times bestselling author Daniel Kraus as he discusses his new novel, “The Sixth Nik.” His work spans novels, film and television. Kraus’ acclaimed titles include “Angel Down,” “Whalefall,” The Shape of Water” (co-authored with Guillermo del Toro) and “Trollhunters.” His books have received numerous literary awards and have been translated into over 25 languages. The event is part of the Online Author Events Series. Registration is required.
