Benchmark breaks ground on condo building
Benchmark General Contractors reported that it broke ground on Aug. 31 on Gulf Beach Condominium, a new 14-unit residential condominium building on Sanibel.
The 28,542-square-foot development will rise two stories above parking on a single building footprint and will offer residential condominium living for full-time and seasonal residents. Amenities will include a pool and dune crossover ramp, providing direct beach access. Construction is expected to be completed by October 2027.
The Benchmark project team includes Doug Hrabik as senior project manager. MK Architecture is serving as architect, while Michael D. Stewart, P.E., is serving as engineer.
Benchmark noted that the project reflects its continued commitment to the long-term recovery and rebuilding of the island. Gulf Beach Condominium represents one of several multi-family residential projects that Benchmark has undertaken as Sanibel’s community works to restore its housing stock.
