Volunteers sought for two events
The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) is seeking volunteers for a Gopher Tortoise Habitat Maintenance Day on July 16 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and a Trail Blazers at Shipley Trail — for Love Sanibel Back — on July 22 from 8 to 10 a.m. on Sanibel. On July 16, volunteers will help staff maintain the progress made during the project season. Key tasks will include removing invasive plant species and thinning dense vegetation. On July 22, volunteers will help maintain the SCCF’s trail system. Tasks may include removing invasive plants, trimming overgrown vegetation, pulling vine and other maintenance tasks.
