TCH to host Breakfast at Wimbledon Brunch
Tickets are available for a Wimbledon-focused gathering at The Community House (TCH).
For the second year in a row, the Breakfast at Wimbledon Brunch will take place on July 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sanibel. It will feature two finals on the big screen, plus food, drinks and more.
“It was popular last year and people liked it — and it is a good opportunity to have a social event during the daytime,” TCH Community Engagement Coordinator Ivy Ankerson said.
The women’s doubles finals and men’s singles finals will be projected on the Great Hall’s big screen.
“When the doors open, people will have the opportunity to watch the second part of the women’s doubles finals, and then starting at about 11 a.m. the men’s singles finals will be screening,” she said.
Attendees will enjoy a championship-worthy brunch spread.
“For Wimbledon, the tradition is strawberries and cream, so we’ll have that,” Ankerson said.
“We’ll have bagels with all the fixings,” she added, citing cream cheese and lox.
They can also partake in a bubbly bar.
“There will be bottomless mimosas and people can just help themselves,” she said. “And then we’ll have coffee and water.”
Like last year, attendees can participate in a guessing game.
“Where you guess who will win the first set of the men’s finals and then guessing who will win the finals overall,” Ankerson said, noting that they will also guess the final score and match length.
“We will have prizes,” she added.
The goodies will range from coffee mugs to tennis lessons.
In addition, there will be door and raffle prizes.
Attendees are encouraged to put on their Wimbledon attire.
“Come dressed in white — to get into the spirit of it,” Ankerson said.
“People can do it if they want,” she added. “If doesn’t have to be anything fancy.”
This year’s event sponsors include the Beachview Tennis Club, On Island, Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, and The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club, along with additional supporters.
“We’re incredibly grateful to all of our sponsors who make this event special,” Ankerson said.
Tickets are $10 for members and $20 for non-members.
The community is encouraged to reserve a seat.
“It is a really fun social event — and you don’t have to be super into tennis to enjoy it,” she said. “It’s an opportunity to enjoy some time and some food with community members.”
