Love Sanibel Back continues
Love Sanibel Back will continue on July 27 through Aug. 2 with Week 9, themed “Give Back Week.” Residents and visitors are encouraged to support the people in need and businesses that continue to invest in the island’s future. They are invited to donate non-perishable food and household essentials to FISH of Sanibel-Captiva and Community Housing & Resources (CHR) to benefit local families, workers and neighbors facing challenges. Suggested items include: pasta, peanut butter and jelly, paper towels and toilet paper, flour, oil, hygiene pads, dry/wet pet food, condiments, and cereal for FISH; and kitchen items, towels, cleaning supplies, doormats, shell/bird guide, and gift cards to island retail/restaurants for CHR residents. Collection boxes will be located at FISH, CHR and various drop-off points. Participants can share their activities on social media using #LoveSanibelBack to inspire others to join in making a difference. In addition, Give Back Week encourages the public to continue showing love to the island’s businesses. Running from now through August, Love Sanibel Back’s 2026 theme is “Buy Local — Spread Joy — Give Back.” The community initiative is hosted by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, in partnership with the city of Sanibel, SanCap Chamber, businesses, nonprofit organizations and community sponsors.
