Junonia found on Captiva

Chad Long, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, found a junonia on June 13 at Blind Pass Beach on Captiva. He and his family are avid shellers and visit each of the beaches along the islands. “We love treasure hunting for alphabet cones, banded tulips and lightning whelks,” Long said. “However, we never dreamed of finding a junonia!” They have been visiting Sanibel for 15 years, including the year after Hurricane Ian. “The island is truly a special place!” he added.
