FOROS reports on results of annual Road Rally
The Friends of Randy of Sanibel (FOROS) announced the winners of the 46th annual 4th of July Road Rally, which was held on July 4 starting out from the Timbers Restaurant & Fish Market on Sanibel.
The top placing teams, and additional winners, were as follows:
– First place: Martini Mommas
– Second place: Belding Babes
– Third place: Catch a Lift
– Never forgotten last place: Road Runners
– Best Decorated Car: Shellebrate Sanibel
– Best Decorated Team: Spatini Teabar
First place won a two-night stay at the ‘Tween Waters Inn & Marina; second place won a half-day fishing charter with Whitney’s Bait & Tackle; third place won a full-day boat rental by the Port Sanibel Marina; and last place won a free entry for next year’s rally. The best decorated car and team each won a bucket of various bug repellant items by Forever Green Ace Hardware. Other prizes distributed to the winners included gift cards donated by Dante’s Italian Kitchen, Gramma Dot’s, Sanibel Deli, Shiny Objects, and The Green Flash.
An awards ceremony was held on July 12 at The Sanibel Grill, which was an event host and premier sponsor alongside Timbers.

Raffle winners Rudy and Sandy Zahorchak won a catered home dinner for eight with the Paper Fig Kitchen & Catering.
The proceeds raised will benefit the Sanibel Sea School. Also, a donation will also be made to Community Housing & Resources’ (CHR) families to assist with back-to-school supplies.
