City taking applications for committee, board
The Sanibel City Council is accepting applications for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and the Municipal Police Pension Board of Trustees.
PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Applications are being accepted to fill four seats on the committee:
– One seat is currently vacant for a partial term ending on Sept. 10, 2027
– One seat is currently vacant for a partial term ending on Sept. 8, 2028
– Two seats are available due to expiring terms beginning on Sept. 12 and expiring on Sept. 14, 2029
Responsibilities include:
– Attend monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 9 a.m.
– Make recommendations to the city council and city manager regarding the items listed in the Sanibel City Charter — Section 2-168. Functions and Duties.
Qualifications include:
– Members are appointed by the city council
– Appointees must be full-time residents of Sanibel

MUNICIPAL POLICE PENSION BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Applications are being accepted to fill three seats, with terms commencing on Oct. 1 and expiring on Sept. 30, 2030.
Responsibilities include:
– Attend quarterly meetings on the second Wednesday of February, May, August and November at 1 p.m. in MacKenzie Hall at the Sanibel City Hall, at 800 Dunlop Road, Sanibel.
– General time commitment is 15-20 hours per year to review materials and attend meetings.
