Beachview Villas on Sanibel welcomed its first guests over the Memorial Day weekend.

Owned and operated by Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts (SCBR), it is situated on the site of the former Beachview Cottages, which was destroyed by Hurricane Ian in 2022. Reimagined into a new concept, the villas are designed for peace, privacy and a refined coastal stay, offering spacious accommodations with generous indoor and outdoor areas, full kitchens, and shared community spaces for gathering.

“Beachview has long been part of Sanibel’s story,” SCBR President Tony Lapi said. “Welcoming our first guests was an incredible milestone. It reflects the progress we’ve made and our commitment to bringing this special place back in a way that respects both its history and the island.”

Built by Stevens Construction, Beachview Villas houses 22 Gulf-view rooms with a variety of accommodation offerings, including: 10 350-square-foot guest villas; 11 600-square-foot one-bedroom villas; and one 2,100-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bathroom deluxe villa with a full kitchen.

It also features a pool, en event lawn and a boardwalk to the beach.

The construction team also included Bowman, Southview Studios, and Wegman Design Group.

Stevens Construction reported that before construction began in 2024, it spent months collaborating with SCBR and architect to design the project. In the preconstruction process, it identified $600,000 in cost-saving solutions, helping keep the project on budget and schedule as it moved into construction.
