Florida District 13 Cmdr. Laurene Allen-Flower, along with District 13 Sons of the American Legion Cmdr. Michael Pace and District 13 American Legion Auxiliary President Evelyn Kanchok Gowdy, led the 2026 installation ceremony for American Legion Post 123 on June 22 on Sanibel. Also present were Florida Sons of the American Legion Cmdr. Michael Nigbor and Florida American Legion Auxiliary Past President Linda Teasly. Installed were: Cmdr. Tim Moore, 1st Vice Cmdr. John Hird, 2nd Vice Cmdr. Bob Cook, 3rd Vice Cmdr. Bob Booth, Finance Officer Craig Helmen and Sergeant-at-Arms David Zumbrum for the Legion; Cmdr. James “Tarzan” Russell, 1st Vice Cmdr. and Adjutant James Silbar, and Chaplain Brian Corcoran for the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 123; and President Heather Silbar, 1st Vice President Melissa White, 2nd Vice President Katilyn Doherty, Treasurer and Secretary Colleen Seeger, Historian Martha Corcoran and Chaplain Jil Thompson for the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 123.
