SPD releases monthly numbers
As part of its recent The Sanibel Community Safety Update, the Sanibel Police Department (SPD) released “Island Safety By The Numbers” for the month of May.
The numbers are as follows:
– Traffic stops: 418
– Traffic citations issued: 74
– Traffic warnings issued: 354
– Traffic radar enforcement details: 290
– Traffic crashes: 11
– Arrests: Six
– Notices to appear issued: Seven
– 911 calls: 185
– Alarm calls: 29
– Residential area checks: 1,518
– Business area checks: 1,090
– Total area checks: 4,182
– Reported burglaries or thefts: Three
– Total calls for service: 7,392
– Ranger contacts on Shared Use Path: 681
– Ranger contacts at parks/on beaches: 1,232
ARRESTS, NOTICES TO APPEAR
– May 14, a subject was arrested and charged with an out-of-county warrant and threatening law enforcement officers.
– May 23, a driver was arrested and charged with DUI and refusal to submit.
– May 24, a driver was arrested and charged with knowingly driving with a suspended license.
– May 28, a driver was arrested and charged with DUI and refusal to submit.
– May 30, a driver was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana under 20 grams.
– May 30, a driver was arrested for tag attached not assigned.
