The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium will hold the first of its new Beat the Heat Beach Walks on June 9 from 7 to 8 a.m. at the Gulfside City Park, at 2001 Algiers Lane, Sanibel. Led by the museum’s educators, attendees will explore the shore, learn about local shells and mollusks, and see the sunrise while avoiding the afternoon heat and humidity of the wet season. The cost is $15 for adults and $5 for museum members and ages 17 and under. The deadline to purchase tickets is June 8 at 11:59 p.m. For tickets or more information, visit ShellMuseum.org/beach-walks.
