SCCF to offer hatchling release sessions
The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) will offer a Public Sea Turtle Hatchling Release program in August. Led by staff and biologists with its Coastal Wildlife team and Sanibel Sea School, participants will have a chance to witness hatchlings make their way to the sea. Every session will include a short educational presentation before heading to a beach for the release; no flash photography or lights will be allowed. The weekly sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:30/8 p.m. to 9/10 p.m. They will be free, with donations welcome. Registration will open on July 1 at 9 a.m. To register or for more information, visit https://sccf.org/get-involved/hatchling-releases/.
