SANIBEL PUBLIC LIBRARY The Sanibel Public Library will present Island Adventures Storytime with the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium on June 26.

The Sanibel Public Library provides a variety of programming for adults and children.

Crafternoon: Jigsaw Puzzles will be held on June 24 from 3 to 4 p.m. Open to ages 5 and older, participants will create a jigsaw puzzle. A variety of supplies will be available, along with examples and guidance.

On June 25, Adam’s Animal Encounters will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. for pre-K through second grade and from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for grades 3 and up. The interactive, hands-on presentation will give attendees the chance to learn about wildlife conservation, animal behaviors and the importance of protecting the planet’s creatures. Adam will introduce a variety of fascinating animals.

Island Adventures Storytime will be held on June 26 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. with the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium. The engaging program will include a sea-themed story, followed by a hands-on craft inspired by marine life.

On June 26, Robotics Lab: Machine Builders Workshop will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. Construct mechanical devices using motors, gears and wheels, while exploring the basics of engineering and simple electronics through a hands-on building experience. Open to ages 10 and older.

Hobby Hour Swap will be held on July 1 from 11 a.m. to noon. Participants will have the chance to swap puzzles, painting supplies, knitting or quilting supplies. Or just come to soak up some knowledge from people who are true artists in their craft and to interact with your neighbors.

On July 1, Crafternoon: DIY Baseball Hats & Bags will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. Open to ages 5 and older, participants will design a baseball hat or string bag. Caps, bags and fabric markers will be provided. along with examples and guidance

WEEKLY PROGRAMMING

– Family Storytime: Fridays and Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Bring the whole family to enjoy stories, songs, movement and early literacy play centers that spark creativity and motor skills. Open to babies and toddlers and their caregivers.

Library cards are available to residents of Sanibel and Lee County at no charge. Visitor library cards are available for a $10 annual fee.

The library is open on Monday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
