Recreation center provides update on activities, events

The Sanibel Recreation Center reported on upcoming programs and activities.

Sound Bowl Healing with Dani will take place on June 17 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Registration is required.

In addition, the center announced the recent completion of a major enhancement to the Heron Room, a multi-generational game room. The newly updated space features a wide variety of recreational activities designed to encourage fun, connection, friendly competition and active play for participants of all ages. New additions include a Pop-A-Shot basketball game, air hockey table, table tennis, foosball, board games, card games and other engaging activities. It reported that the enhancement was made possible through a grant from The Kate Foundation.

The center is open on Mondays through Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beach parking permits are available for purchase.

New and current members can call 239-472-0345 or stop by the front desk for help with setting up their CivicRec account. A variety of memberships, passes and punch cards are available.
