Life Jacket Loaner Program available
In partnership with the Sanibel Fire and Rescue District, the America’s Boating Club of Sanibel-Captiva offers a Life Jacket Loaner Program to help keep boaters safe throughout the summer season. Life jackets are available to borrow in all sizes — from infant through XXL — from Station 171, at 2351 Palm Ridge Road, Sanibel. They are then returned so they remain available for others. Sponsored by a grant from TowBoatUS, the program is a convenient option when one has more boaters than jackets, when a child or grandchild has outgrown their gear, or when one’s life jackets are worn or torn and a quick solution is needed. Club members recently set up at Jerry’s Foods to share information about the safety resource with the community. It thanked Jerry’s for the opportunity.
