Trailways Camps held its annual “I Am Special” Camper Reunion & Birth Day Party on April 18 at the Sanibel Community Church on Sanibel. Two hundred and fifty campers, caregivers and volunteers celebrated camper birthdays and reconnections. Pastor Jeramie Rinne provided the welcome, and Steve Greenstein served as emcee. Board Chair Jerry Miller provided highlights from the past year and launched the new “Trailways Camps Forward, Our Journey” video. Grampy the Clown was present for games, music and dancing for the campers. Talent performances by the campers was a highlight. The Benjamin G. Miller “Joyful Spirit” Academy and Volunteer of the Year recognitions were revealed, and a respite raffle drawing was held for caregivers for a four-day, three-night stay. Sponsors included: Susen H. Berg, Captiva Chapel by the Sea, Florida Trust Wealth Management, Grampy’s Charities, Sanibel Captiva Lions Club, Sanibel Community Church, and Shalimar Beach Resort.
