Temporary road closures for Doc Ford’s race
The city of Sanibel reported that the Doc Ford’s Yucatán Shrimp 7K Race will be held on May 23.
Portions of Tarpon Bay Road and Island Inn Road will be closed for the event.
The following road closures will occur:
– 6:30 to 10 a.m.: Tarpon Bay from Sanibel Boulevard to the Trost Parking lot will be closed, including the Bailey Tract parking lot. The Trost lot will remain open throughout the event*
– 6:30 to 10 a.m.: Island Inn from Tarpon Bay to the gate will be closed*
*Times are approximate and will depend on the length of time for runners/walkers to clear the area.
The city advised motorists to be alert for pedestrians in the area and to carefully follow law enforcement instruction and event traffic signage. Motorists can expect delays; plan your travel accordingly.
