SPD releases monthly numbers
As part of its recent The Sanibel Community Safety Update, the Sanibel Police Department (SPD) released “Island Safety By The Numbers” for the month of April.
The numbers are as follows:
– Traffic stops: 433
– Traffic citations issued: 99
– Traffic warnings issued: 347
– Traffic radar details: 232
– Traffic crashes: 21
– Arrests: Seven
– Notices to appear issued: 10
– 911 calls: 167
– Alarm calls: 18
– Residential area checks: 1,220
– Business area checks: 1,143
– Total area checks: 3,682
– Reported burglaries/thefts: One
– Total calls for service: 6,826
– Ranger contacts on Shared Use Path: 2,515
– Ranger contacts at parks/on beaches: 2,977
ARRESTS, NOTICES TO APPEAR
– On April 3, a subject was arrested and charged with disorderly intoxication and issued a notice to appear for violation of probation.
– On April 10, a driver was arrested and charged with DUI and refusal to submit.
– On April 12, a driver was arrested and charged with operating motor vehicle without valid license and warrant failure to appear.
– On April 12, a driver was arrested and charged with DUI blood alcohol content 0.15 or higher and fleeing eluding.
– On April 14, a subject was arrested and charged with battery and simple assault.
– On April 25, a subject was arrested and charged with warrant violation of probation.
– On April 26, a driver was arrested and charged with DUI.
