Refuge provides update on WoW
The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge (DDWS) reported that the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge’s Wildlife on Wheels (WoW) mobile classroom team recently spent time with pre-K students at the G. Weaver Hipps Early Learning Center in Lehigh Acres as its last engagement of the school year. The students learned about different animals and their habitat. In June, the WoW will begin its summer camp calendar at three area schools: Lehigh Elementary School, the Guadalupe Center/Eden Park Elementary, and Littleton Elementary. For this year’s Wild for STEAM — Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics — camp, the “Who Done It” theme will have students acting as nature detectives to solve problems and mysteries.
