Refuge provides update on WoW
REFUGE/DDWS
The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge (DDWS) reported that the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge’s Wildlife on Wheels (WoW) mobile classroom team recently taught fourth graders at Hancock Creek Elementary School in North Fort Myers about food chains. They played Food Chain Jenga, where each level represented a different piece of the food chain, including producers and consumers. The students learned how humans can impact ecosystems in positive and negative ways and how energy is transferred between living things. On April 29, the WoW moved to the G. Weaver Hipps Early Learning Center in Lehigh Acres to teach pre-K students through May 8.
