The Sanibel Recreation Center reported on upcoming programs and activities.

Blooming with Love will be held on May 8 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Attendees will create a bouquet from a curated variety of blooms. Ages under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $19 for members and $24 for non-members. Registration is required.

Dance! Dance! Dance! with Ravah Daley will take place on May 13 at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Registration is required.

An EmpowerHER Wellness Workshop will be held on May 13 from noon to 1 p.m. with Apex Physical Therapy. The program is free, but registration is required.

NEXT GENERATION OF CAREGIVERS

The center reported that 13 tweens and teens recently completed the American Red Cross Babysitting Certification Course. During the training, they strengthened essential babysitting skills, gained confidence in caring for infants and children, and learned how to respond in emergency situations. The course also provided certification in pediatric first aid and CPR.

The center is open on Mondays through Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beach parking permits are available for purchase.

New and current members can call 239-472-0345 or stop by the front desk for help with setting up their CivicRec account. A variety of memberships, passes and punch cards are available.
