CEPD workshop to focus on beach entrance designs
The Captiva Erosion Prevention District (CEPD) will hold a workshop to review vegetative design concepts for several public beach entrances on May 7 at 1 p.m. at its office, as well as virtually.
Coastal Vista will present concepts previously shared with the CEPD board, along with an additional one for the Turner Beach entrance. The consultant will also provide a detailed planting plan for the Alison Hagerup Beach Parking area.
Also, Coastal Vista will share examples of several dune planting projects it has completed that align with and support the intent of the effort. It indicated that it will prepare an OPC for the developed planting plan.
“This workshop will provide an opportunity for the board and the public to review the proposed concepts and better understand how the vegetative designs may support dune protection, beach access and the overall character of these public beach entrances,” the CEPD shared.
“We appreciate your continued interest and engagement in CEPD’s efforts to protect and enhance Captiva’s shoreline,” it added.
