The Captiva Memorial Library, which is part of the Lee County Library System, is offering the following free programming:

CHILDREN PROGRAMS

The library is open on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.

ADULT PROGRAMS

– May 19: Online Author Event with Nir Eyal from 2 to 3 p.m.

Learn about the three Powers of Belief — Attention, Anticipation and Agency — with author Nir Eyal. Attendees will learn practical strategies to overcome self-imposed limits and reach their full potential. Eyal writes and teaches about the intersection of psychology, technology and human behavior. A former instructor at Stanford, he is the bestselling author of “Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products” and “Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life,” which have sold over 1 million copies worldwide. His work has been featured in the The New York Times and Harvard Business Review. The event is part of the Online Author Events Series. Registration is required.
