Shell museum presents event sponsors
The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium announced that A Bit of Bailey’s, Congress Jewelers and The Timbers Restaurant & Fish Market were sponsors for its second annual Prosecco & Pearls on March 26 on Sanibel. Attendees had the opportunity to stroll the museum’s aquariums and Great Hall of Shell exhibits while sipping prosecco supplied by presenting sponsor Bubbly Latitude. There were also fine wines available to enjoy, along with appetizers and a raw bar. A variety of pearls were on display, while museum Science Director and Curator Dr. José H. Leal educated attendees about the mollusks that make the exquisite pearls. Another highlight of the evening was a silent auction of natural pearls. Other activities included a pearl craft-making activity and “Pearls of Wisdom” scavenger hunt. Additional event sponsors included Charlotte and Randy Hockensmith. The proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit educational programs at the museum.
