Sanibel library continues author series
The Sanibel Public Library continued its 2025-26 Author Series with international bestseller Kristin Harmel on Feb. 17 at The Community House on Sanibel. She spoke about her writing journey, the inspiration behind her work, the importance of preserving stories from the past, and the most vital part of being an author: staying true to one’s self. Harmel offered insight into her research process and how she weaves historical events with fictional characters to create meaningful emotional connections for readers. She also gave attendees a deep dive into her new book, “The Stolen Life of Colette Marceau,” including her inspiration for the story. The program concluded with a Q&A session, and attendees had the opportunity to purchase Harmel’s books from MacIntosh Books + Paper. Champagne and sparkling juice were available, with light hors d’oeuvres provided by the Paper Fig Kitchen. The library extended its gratitude to the Sanibel Public Library Foundation, which directly funds the seasonal Author Series.
