Overnight beach work set for Captiva

The Captiva Erosion Prevention District (CEPD) reported that a tractor will be working along the full length of the island’s beach this evening and overnight to smooth down the escarpment. The work is being done to help improve beach conditions and make the shoreline easier to navigate. Beach-goers are advised to use caution, give the equipment plenty of space, and avoid active work areas while the work is underway. The CEPD thanked the public for its patience and cooperation.
