Captiva library, county system offer programs
The Captiva Memorial Library, which is part of the Lee County Library System, is offering the following free programming:
CHILDREN PROGRAMS
– May 4: Butterfly Craft DIY
(during operating hours)

The library is open on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.

In addition, the library system is offering the following free virtual programming:
ADULT PROGRAMS
– April 30: Online Beginner Chinese from 6 to 7 p.m.
Learn the basics of Chinese in a relaxed, informal and beginner-friendly class. Presented by library system volunteer Ying Li, participants will focus on simple words, everyday phrases and basic grammar to help them start building sentences. No experience is needed. Registration is required by April 30 at 9 a.m.
– April 30: Online Author Event with Jason Reynolds from 7 to 8 p.m.
Step into the world of the Track series with author Jason Reynolds as he talks about “Coach,” the final book in his series. He is an award-winning and #1 New York Times bestseller. Reynolds also authored “Long Way Down” and “Look Both Ways.” The event is part of the Online Author Events Series. Registration is required.
