Progressives to hold program
The Progressives of the Islands will welcome guest speaker and “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge (DDWS) Executive Director Ann-Marie Wildman on March 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sanibel Public Library, at 770 Dunlop Road, Sanibel.
She will talk about Sanibel’s environment.
Wildman leads the nonprofit friend’s group, which is recognized around the country as one of the premiere friend’s organizations with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The DDWS is recognized for its work in supporting the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge in areas of education, programming, land acquisition and restoration, and overall conservation efforts through marketing, philanthropic support and advocacy.
Wildman’s involvement with the DDWS began as a supporter and board member when she moved to Sanibel in 2009 and continued as a part-time turned full-time staff member overseeing The Nature Store and developing its online presence, ultimately moving into the area of donor development and philanthropy.
The program is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are required by March 15.
