New water feature opens at South Seas resort

SOUTH SEAS A ribbon-cutting marked the recent opening of Captiva Landing at South Seas on Captiva.

South Seas officially opened Captiva Landing, a vibrant aqua adventure designed to bring families together through shared experiences, flexible recreation and island-inspired fun, in December.

Located at the south end of the resort, it spans more than 2.5 acres of immersive freshwater attractions. Captiva Landing features multiple experience zones designed to balance adventure and relaxation.

It introduces a dynamic mix of family-friendly attractions, including Bottlenose Bay splash zone with six slides, the Gulfstream lazy river, The Cove relaxation pool, Flippers quick-service restaurant, a classic arcade and Camp-tiva, a nature-based kids club.

“South Seas has always been a place where generations of families come together to create memories,” resort General Manager Shawn Farrell said. “With options for all ages, families have the freedom to explore while still sharing those moments together.”

The new water feature enhances South Seas’ growing collection of family-focused amenities, while offering experiences for guests of all ages.

“The kids can head to the slides or play in the arcade while others can relax on the lazy river,” he said. “Parents and grandparents can enjoy lunch at a shady spot under an umbrella or choose to jump in and join the kids.”

Multiple companies contributed to the design and construction of Captiva Landing, including: Curran Young, general contractor; MHK Architecture for project design; Barraco and Associates, civil engineering; and AK Design for interior design.

South Seas noted that the opening of Captiva Landing marks another milestone in the resort’s ongoing revitalization, joining recently debuted amenities like the Beach House restaurant and Harborside Italian steakhouse.

Resort amenities are exclusively available to South Seas guests and Club Captiva owners.

South Seas is at 5400 Plantation Road, Captiva.
