The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge (DDWS) provided the following updates for the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, at 1 Wildlife Drive, Sanibel:

– The free Winter Refuge Programs are taking place from now through April 6.

– The 14th annual “Ding” Darling & Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament will take place on May 15. To register, contact DDWS Events, Marketing and Grants Manager Angeli Chin at angeli@dingdarlingsociety.org.

– Celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary with the refuge on July 4.

– The refuge will celebrate Jay Norwood “Ding” Darling’s 150th birthday on Oct. 21.

– Art will meet nature at Art in the Wild on Oct. 21-22.

– The REVIVE! Trash-To-Fashion Couture Collection Show will be held on Nov. 4.
