County library system offering virtual programs
The Lee County Library System, which includes the Captiva Memorial Library, is offering the following free virtual programming:
ADULT PROGRAMS
– March 4: Online How to Reopen and Work a Genealogical Cold Case from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Become a genealogical detective. Learn to track ancestors like a criminal cold case detective, sniffing out holes in research and getting missing information on the record with cutting edge technology. Registration is required.
– March 4: Online Author Event with Michael Perry from 2 to 3 p.m.
Step into the world of small-town America through the words of New York Times bestseller, speaker and humorist Michael Perry, author of “Population: 485” and “Jesus Cow.” He is known for his “reflective roughneck” take on life in the rural Midwest. Perry is also a registered nurse, volunteer firefighter, musician and creator of the audio newsletter, “Michael Perry’s Voice Mail.” The event is part of the Online Author Events Series. Registration is required.
