LCEC provides update on service center
LCEC reported that it is in the process of constructing a remote service center to better serve residents and businesses on Sanibel and Captiva.
Located on LCEC property adjacent to the existing electric substation on Sanibel-Captiva Road on Sanibel, the center will help enhance the reliability of the electric system and improve power restoration efforts following major weather events.
Beginning on Feb. 23, LCEC will conduct test pile driving at the construction site on Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The work is expected to continue through the end of the week.
Residents may experience temporary construction noise during these hours.
LCEC reported that it appreciates the support from the city and the community’s patience as it completes the important infrastructure improvement.
