Ceramist Alexandra McCurdy, of Sanibel and Nova Scotia, Canada, will take part in Collect 2026 on Feb. 26 through March 1 at the Somerset House in London, England. She is among 11 contemporary makers from across Atlantic Canada selected to participate in the Craft Alliance’s exhibition, “The Power Of Objects: Voices of Contemporary Craft.” Curated by Brazilian-Canadian curator Bruno Vinhas, the narrative is centered on the profound ability of craft objects to act as carriers of memory, identity, resistance and transformation. Five of McCurdy’s pieces will be included in the exhibition. Presented by the Crafts Council, Collect is the only annual art fair on the U.K. and international circuit that is dedicated to museum-quality contemporary craft and design.
