FISH offering youth scholarships for families
FISH of Sanibel-Captiva reported that it continues to support working families through its Youth Scholarship Program, providing financial assistance for qualified households that need safe, reliable care for their children during after-school hours, school breaks and throughout the summer.
“For many families, childcare isn’t optional — it’s essential,” Social Services Director Nitza Lopez, who oversees the program, said. “These scholarships help ensure children are in safe, supportive settings while parents are able to work, knowing their kids are learning, engaged and cared for consistently throughout the year.”
With the School District of Lee County’s Spring Break set for March 16-20, the program is available to help support access to camps and programs that offer youths structured, supervised environments where they can learn, stay active and socialize.
Scholarships are awarded on a case-by-case basis, with assistance levels based on program cost, duration and a family’s financial circumstances.
The support is made possible through donor generosity.
