FISH to host monthly luncheon with speaker
FISH of Sanibel-Captiva will hold its next Friendly Faces Luncheon on Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
The featured guest speakers will be America’s Boating Club of Sanibel-Captiva members Joanne Heroy Giller, Ed and Mary Holden, and Pat Schmidt. They will share highlights for the upcoming season.
The club is known not only for boating education, but also for creating a community of friends who enjoy life on and around the water. Originally formed in 1975 as the Sanibel-Captiva Power Squadron, it is a welcoming place where members gather to learn, swap stories, take part in day and overnight cruises, and enjoy boating-related activities together. Members are not required to have a boat to take part. The club offers national-level courses through the U.S. Power Squadrons, while also providing local programs tailored to the unique waterways of Sanibel and Captiva.
The complimentary lunch will be provided by The Great White Grill.
“Friendly Faces is one of my favorite ways to start the year,” FISH Senior Services Director Erika Arnowitz said. “We get to sit down together over a good meal, catch up after the holidays and learn something useful at the same time.”
Chuck Bergstrom, with the RE/MAX Realty Group, is a partial sponsor for the luncheon.
Reservations are required by Jan. 9.
