Sanibel library offers range of programs and topics
The Sanibel Public Library provides a variety of programming for adults and children.
Discovering Library Databases will be held on Dec. 19 from 3 to 4 p.m. Designed for children and accompanying adults, participants will discover the online library research tools that are at their fingertips.
On Dec. 20, Saturday Crafterday will take place on Dec. 20 from 11 a.m. to noon with professional artist and coloring book creator Melissa Gindling. Designed for all ages, participants will make a holiday-themed, take-home craft.
WEEKLY PROGRAMMING
– Crafternoon: Wednesdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Make a fun and engaging craft with staff guidance. All supplies provided. Open to all ages.
– Family Storytime: Fridays and Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Bring the whole family to enjoy stories, songs, movement and early literacy play centers that spark creativity and motor skills. Open to babies and toddlers and their caregivers.
The Sanibel-Captiva Art League (SCAL) and library will present “Serendipity” from now through Jan. 6. A collection of fresh, original works by SCAL members, the exhibition highlights the creativity, vision and joy of local artists who bring inspiration to the community through their unique perspectives and techniques. The artwork is available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the library and its cultural and educational programming.
Library cards are available to residents of Sanibel and Lee County at no charge. Visitor library cards are available for a $10 annual fee.
The library is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be closed on Dec. 24 in observance of Christmas.
