The Sanibel Captiva Lions Club sponsored the Lions International Peace Poster Contest, challenging students at The Sanibel School to participate. Working with art teacher Erica Sharp, 29 youths entered the contest. The judging was recently completed by a panel of local experts, including artists Terry Baldwin, Deborah Butler and Peter Zell. First place went to Grant Strader. The club congratulated him and thanked all the students for their participation. Strader’s poster will be sent to Lions International for entry into the next stage of the competition. For over three decades, Lions Clubs around the globe have hosted the contest for schools and youth groups, which is open to ages 11-13.
