Rotary Club holds meeting with speaker
The Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club welcomed Sanibel City Manager Dana Souza as its guest speaker at a recent meeting. He shared information about the financial health of the city post-hurricanes, taxable property values, the Sanibel City Council’s strategic goals and hiring of a chief resilience officer. Souza also shared the breakdown of the city’s annual residential taxes. He has served as city manager since 2021. Prior to joining, Souza was employed by the city of Naples and held the positions of interim city manager, deputy city manager and community services director. He has worked in the field of public administration for 40 years. Souza holds a Bachelor of Science in public administration from Roger Williams University and a graduate certificate in public administration from the University of Central Florida, and he is a fellow of Furman University’s Diversity Leaders Initiative at The Riley Institute.
