The Sanibel Public Library is temporarily closed until further notice due to a water pipe break.
Officials reported that it will reopen after the damage is remediated.
Book drops are located outside of the building for patrons to return DVDs, magazines, books and other library materials. In addition, all user fees have been waived during the closure; there will be no overdue fines assessed, and items placed on hold will remain on hold.
During the closure, patrons can still access eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, music, movies and more through the library’s eShelf. To access it, visit https://sanlib.org/eshelf/.
Officials apologized for any inconvenience and expressed appreciation for patrons’ patience as they work to resolve the issue. The reopening will be announced through email and social media.
