Captiva-inspired art on display at civic center
The Captiva Civic Association recently kicked off its 2021-22 art exhibition season with an opening reception for the first of five exhibits that are scheduled at the gallery over the coming months.
Presented in collaboration with the Captiva Island Historical Society, “An Artful Look at Captiva History” features a mix of pieces in which the island served as the inspiration for the art. Throughout its history, Captiva has been inspiring artists and their work, such as Robert “Bob” Rauschenberg.
A reception for the CCA’s first exhibition of the season was held on Nov. 16.
The exhibit is open to the public free-of-charge.
It will be on display through Dec. 1.
The gallery’s hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m
The center will be closed on Nov. 25-26 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Face coverings are required for visitors over the age of 6.
