“Ding” Darling Wildlife Society is accepting submissions for its 15th Annual Theodore Cross High School Photography Contest.

DDWS’ Theodore Cross High School Photography Contest was created in 2013 in remembrance of Theodore Cross, an avid bird photographer who also marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., advised presidents on anti-poverty programs, and wrote the influential book “Black Capitalism,” among others.

This is the first photography contest of its kind in the local area and is open to all high school students in Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Glades, and Hendry counties, regardless of skill level.

Contest runs from Oct. 1 through Jan. 15, 2027. There is no cost to enter the contest.

• Include your full name, high school, and grade with each submission.

• Provide a title and a written description (minimum 100 words) of the “moment” captured and how it reflects what nature and wildlife mean to you.

Submit your photo(s), information, and paragraph description by email to ddhsphotocontest@dingdarlingsociety.org by the deadline of Jan. 15.
