Sanibel Recreation Center announces new fitness schedule, instructors and expanded hours
There’s a lot happening at the Sanibel Recreation Center this fall, with new classes, updated class times, new instructors and even more opportunities for the community to stay active and connected.
The Recreation Center rolled out an updated fitness schedule last week featuring adjustments to several class times, along with new and returning class offerings designed to provide members with even more variety throughout the week. Members will also notice some new faces leading classes, as the Recreation Department continues to welcome talented instructors to its fitness team to grow and evolve to meet the needs of the Sanibel community.
The fall Co-Ed Softball League will be held Wednesdays, Oct. 14, through Dec. 16 with the first pitch at 6:20 p.m. Grab a glove, rally a team and join the league. For more information, contact Jack at (239) 472-0345, or john.kelly@mysanibel.com.
Dolly & Denim Line Dancing with Tracy and Linette will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16. Learn fun country line dances and classic steps with Dolly Parton hits and country favorites all night. Come dressed in your best denim, boots, fringe and rhinestones. It is $15 for members, $20 for nonmembers.
Howl-O-Ween Costume Parade will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 including a photo booth, trick or treat trail, critter crawl parade and spooktacular prizes. There will also be a trunk or treat that day.
The center is open on Mondays through Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beach parking permits are available for purchase.
New and current members can call 239-472-0345 or stop by the front desk for help with setting up their CivicRec account. A variety of memberships, passes and punch cards are available.
