CCA’s 59th annual ABC Gala to return Feb. 25
A beloved Captiva tradition, nearly six decades in the making, will return on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2027.
Captiva Civic Association (CCA) invites members, friends and neighbors to save the date for the 59th Annual ABC Gala, taking place at Captiva Civic Center, located at 11550 Chapin Lane.
The ABC Gala began in 1967 as the “ABC Sale.” The initials stood for “Attics, Basements and Closets”, the places CCA members were encouraged to search for household treasures to donate and sell in support of the organization and the Captiva community.
What began as an island tag sale grew into one of CCA’s most cherished annual traditions. Although the celebration has evolved through the years, its heart remains unchanged: neighbors coming together with generosity, connection and a shared commitment to the island they love.
“The ABC Gala has endured because CCA and its members have valued the importance of community,” CCA President Lisa Riordan said. “It reflects the spirit of the people who have generously given their time, talents and support to ensure that CCA remains a strong and welcoming presence on our island.”
Additional details about the 2027 ABC Gala will be announced as plans are finalized. CCA invites the entire island community to mark its calendars for a special evening celebrating Captiva’s history, the people who make this island extraordinary and the shared commitment that will shape and preserve its future.
