Members of the Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club joined volunteers from across the community on Saturday, Sept. 19, for the International Coastal Cleanup in partnership with the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF).

Volunteers spent the morning helping clean Sanibel’s coastline, removing litter and debris while supporting the health and beauty of the islands’ natural environment.

Following the cleanup, the Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club sponsored an Ice Cream Social at the Bailey Homestead Preserve, giving volunteers an opportunity to cool off, connect and celebrate a successful morning of service.

The event was a great opportunity for Rotarians, community members and volunteers to come together around a shared commitment to protecting the islands and giving back to the community.

The International Coastal Cleanup is part of a worldwide effort to remove trash from coastlines and waterways while raising awareness about the importance of protecting marine and coastal environments.
