Gooderham earns USA Triathlon certification
Kate Gooderham, president of Southwest Florida Events and a resident of Captiva, has recently become a USA Triathlon Certified Race Director, having completed a educational training class and passed an exam. This course includes information on the latest in race directing methods, insurance/risk management trends, and USA Triathlon sanctioning compliance.
Completing the Race Director Certification course shows that an event director is mindful of keeping in touch with the latest industry trends that will in turn allow better events to be produced.
While this course is not required for everyone, athletes should expect more from events organized by race directors who are certified. Southwest Florida Events is producing the Captiva Triathlon at South Seas Island Resort, a sprint-distance triathlon and children’s triathlon whose inaugural event is scheduled for Sept. 17-18.
