The Aztec Plumbing Warriors came out to the Sanibel softball field last Wednesday evening in their war paint. They tried to ambush the tribe of Sanctuary Island Electric, but the polish on their tomahawks gave them away and the ambush turned into a fiercely contested battle.

Aztec took an early 6-1 edge until Sanctuary Electric turned their breakers on and let the energy flow to eventually take a 20-7 lead. Aztec began building a comeback pyramid but got stopped short. Final score: Sanctuary Electric 22, Aztec 17.

In the other games of the night, the undefeated Sanibel Grill played long-time rival Williams and Williams. Sanibel Grill must have loaded up on propane and lit a match because they set fire to Williams and Williams in a 22-5 beat down. Sanibel Grill’s ever hot offense was lead by Ron “The Reaper” Rosen’s stand up triple and Matt Palfri’s homer.

“We spanked the Williams Sisters,” added Palfri.

In the final game of the night, the Bay to Beach Bombers flew another successful mission against All Island Glass and Aluminum. The Bombers were ignited early in the game by Greg Gleason’s solo homer that blew away All Island Glass. Bay to Beach Bombers went ballistic after that in a 25-8 win.
